After the 17^th December 2022 real estate agents and agencies can no longer solicit or invite an offer of rent that is higher than the advertised price for a residential property.

 

All rental properties must be offered at a fixed price and can no longer be advertised with a price range or text such as ‘offers from’ or ‘by negotiation’.

 

There is nothing within the new guidelines that prohibits tenants from making an offer for a rental property that is higher than the advertised price.

 

Moving forward, our agency will now market vacant property with a fixed price instead of a ‘price range’. Where previously the property may have been advertised at $600 – $660 per week, the new advertised price will be $660 per week.
